Introducing the brand new 2014 GZ Competition products.
Several years ago, Ground Zero established a wide range of high efficient speakers under the name “Competition-Line” developed and engineered for “Open Show Use” and all related Car Audio competition platforms such as EMMA ESQL. Aligned to GZ´s recent business expansion, this line becomes not only wider but even more interesting and competitive. Thus, a couple of brand new components, such as compression tweeters, powerful 8”, 10” and 12” midranges and mid-woofers and a really special 8” 2Way coaxial speaker are going to be launched in April 2014:
Starting from Tweeters, the new models GZCT 0500X, 3500X-S and 1800X are replacing the previous versions all of them do feature a better power handling as well as an even higher sound quality. In addition these product updates, absolutely new high efficient drivers are added to the line up: The two square Horn-Compression tweeter GZCT 4000X with a massive aluminium horn and the impressive GZCT 5000SPL with its yellow elliptical tractrix horn for great sound quality and extremely high SPL. Both drivers are using a 44.5 mm / CCAW voice coil with metal dome, which is stable even for highest temperature and power handling. The material used for the GZCT 4000X coil is aluminium; the GZCT 5000SPL even uses a super lightweight titanium coil. Both tweeters allow a wide range dispersion of 90° to 60°. And another specialist model for highest frequencies is added:
The GZCT 2000X comes with a compact aluminium baffle with 79 x 79 mm / 3.1” x 3.1” front dimensions and allows to play up to 25 kHz with its 25 mm / 1” aluminium dome. Made for the low and mid frequency range, the 8” and 10” high power midranges GZCM 8-4PPX and 10-4PPX with their massive aluminium phase plugs and cast baskets are performing extraordinary wide. Both of them are using lightweight glass-fibre reinforced paper cones. The GZCM 10-4PPX with its impressive 75 mm / 3” can be used up to 5 KHz, while the GZCM 8-4PPX even plays up to 10 kHz.
Responding the market need of punchy hard bass performance, two new bass drivers are coming up joining the competition line: Firstly, the GZCW 12-50 will be available. That 12” driver with light-weight but stable steel basket and high efficient motor with 50 mm / 2” 2- layer copper voice coil is designed for door installation, as well as Horn or vented boxes. Later on in summer this year, the high power version GZCW 12-75SPL with its 75 mm / 3” voice coil and yellow basket will follow and thus, complete the mid-woofer range. Last but for sure not least, a new high power coaxial speaker will join the competition line: The all new GZCF 200COAX comes with an unique motor design combining only one magnet for both, tweeter section as well as the midrange voice coil. As a result, that 20 cm / 8” driver could be designed extremely flat with just 89 mm / 3.5” mounting depth. And in order to realise the best sound quality and amazing power handling, the tweeter is using the same driver than the impressive GZCT 5000SPL Horn Tweeter. That makes it high efficient (100 dB) and it can be used with the included passive cross over as well as in active mode.
